Products and colours
We use the Duotech microcement range, made by Techsol in Spain. We help you pick the product and the colour when we come out to quote.

Showers and wet areas
- Waterproof RTU Fine Grain
- Waterproof RTU Medium Grain
This is the microcement made for showers, bathrooms and laundries. RTU stands for ready to use: it comes mixed in the bucket, so nothing is mixed on site.
- The fine grain is for walls. The medium grain goes on walls and floors.
- Waterproof is the maker's name for it, and it doesn't replace the waterproofing. In a shower that's a membrane, the waterproof layer under the finish that keeps water out of the walls and floor.
- Over old tiles your membrane stays where it is under them, and a shower that's ripped out gets a new one first.
- It takes one coat of sealer on top.

Floors and walls
- Microcement Level 1C
- Microcement Medium Grain (MG) 1C
These are the cement-based products for floors and feature walls. 1C means one component: the powder only needs water added, which makes it simpler to lay.
- Level 1C can be laid in a thick coat where a floor needs building up.
- Medium Grain is the finishing coat, the layer you see when the floor is done.
- Because both are mixed with water rather than resin, a plastic-like binder, they set hard sooner than resin-mixed microcement.

Hard-wearing floors
- MicroX
MicroX comes in two parts that are mixed together, and it's made for floors that take heavy wear, such as garage floors and restaurants.
- The maker rates it harder than polished concrete.
- The sealer that goes over it doesn't soften it. You still clean it with a gentle cleaner, not bleach or harsh sprays.
- It also suits showers and bathrooms where you want an extra-hard surface.

- Micropool
Micropool lines the inside of a pool in a continuous coating about 5 mm thick, with no tiles and no grout lines.
- It's cement based and goes onto a porous cement base.
- Because it's cement based, moisture in the pool shell can dry out through it instead of being trapped behind it.
- The colour is made to order, so it can be matched to any colour in the chart below.

Polished copper oxideLiquid metals
- Copper Metal
- Bronze Metal
- Silver Metal
These coatings are made from real metal powder mixed into a resin, so the surface looks and feels like solid metal. They're trowelled or sprayed on, inside or outside.
- They go on almost any surface, including feature walls, doors and furniture.
- They can be oxidised, which ages the metal on purpose to give it the rust or green-blue patina of old metal.
- The metal and oxide colours are in the chart below.
What goes under and over the finish
These go under and over the coloured coats. The primer and the sealer go on every microcement floor and wall, and the mortar and the additive only where the surface needs them.
Microcement Primer
It's the first coat to go on. It grips old tiles without grinding them back, and the reinforcing mesh, a fibreglass mesh that helps stop cracks, sticks to it.
Micromortar 2C
A coarse mortar for filling deeper spots and building up thickness before the finish coats go on.
Mixture Resin Cal
An optional additive that can be mixed into Level 1C to make it more flexible and stronger.
Multipol Pro 1C
The clear polyurethane sealer that goes on last and protects the surface. It's one part, so nothing is mixed in.
Colour chart
These are the maker's standard colours. Any other colour can be made to order to an NCS or RAL code, the colour systems paint shops use. Colours on a screen are never exact, so use these as a guide.
